How to Blend Cloud

A gradient cloud can add a soft and natural vibe to your coloring pages! Today, we’ll be working on a page from "Cottage Vibes", illustrated by Southern Lotus Coloring Book, to create a beautifully blended cloud design using Ohuhu Markers. Follow this step-by-step tutorial to achieve a smooth, airy look that is perfect for sky and nature-inspired designs!

Materials Needed:

- Cottage Vibes Coloring Book by Southern Lotus Coloring Book

- Ohuhu Markers (BG68, B030)

- Colorless blender

- White acrylic pen

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Start with the Dark Shade BG68

Begin by applying BG68 to the bottom part of the cloud. This dark blue shade will create the base shadow and add depth to the cloud. Use soft, upward strokes to help with blending later on.

Step 1 - Start with the Dark Shade

Step 2: Add Lighter Shade B030 in the Middle

Next, apply B030 to the middle part of the cloud, leaving about 1/3 of the cloud's space empty at the top. Blend the lighter blue shade slightly over the dark blue to soften the transition between colors.

Step 2 - Add Lighter Shade

Step 3: Blend with a Colorless Blender

Use a colorless blender to blend the two shades together. Move your brush in gentle, circular motions from the darkest area upward into the empty space. The blender pen helps to create a natural gradient effect, making the cloud look fluffy and soft.

Step 3 - Blend with Colorless Blender

Step 4: Add Another Layer for Better Blending

Repeat the process of adding BG68 and B030, then blend again with the colorless blender. This second layer enhances the depth and smoothness of the gradient effect.

Step 4 - Add Another Layer

Step 5: Hide the Black Outline with White Acrylic Pen

For a final touch, use a white acrylic pen to cover the black outline of the cloud. The white edges make the cloud appear more realistic and seamless, blending naturally with the sky background. You can also add a few soft white strokes to create a highlight effect on the cloud.

Step 5 - Hide the Black Outline

Final Result: Your Gradient Cloud is Done!

Your page now features a beautiful and smooth gradient cloud with a soft, airy effect that adds a natural and dreamy vibe to your coloring project. This technique is perfect for creating sky-inspired designs and pairs beautifully with the calm and serene scenes in the Southern Lotus Coloring Book.
